Invisalign is a very cosmetic solution that is also quick. If you use Invisalign, no one can tell you are getting orthodontic work done! You will also have fewer appointments with Invisalign, and you will not have to handle tightenings like regular braces.

However, Invisalign is limited in what it can treat. If you need to fix major tooth displacement or crowding, Invisalign cannot help with that. That is why we have Damon braces!

Damon Braces

While Damon Braces are metal braces, they use very small brackets and a flexible wiring system. This makes them more comfortable and discreet than regular braces. If you need more than a light straightening, Damon braces are for you.

Damon braces do not get tightened either. They use a self-tightening system that applies consistent pressure across all your teeth. These braces will cause less discomfort than regular braces.

How Long Do Adults Wear Braces?

Some orthodontic treatments can be quick. The length of your treatment depends on many things, such as:

Adult braces typically take a bit longer than braces for kids. As you age, teeth are less willing to move.

Case Severity

If you have slightly crooked teeth or misalignment then braces may be quick, around six months. Invisalign is a good treatment option for small adjustments or changes.

If you have severe crowding, gaps, or misalignment, treatment can last much longer. Our Damon braces are still discreet and able to adjust in more severe cases.

Age

If you are younger your orthodontic treatment may be quicker. Teeth are bones, and bones lose their flexibility as they age.

If you are an adult getting braces we cannot move your jaw bone forward or expand it like we can with children.

Do not worry though, we have solutions for every age. Our adult braces are designed knowing that adult teeth do not move quickly. Orthodontics should be comfortable and timely!

Invisalign and Damon braces are our two offerings for adult orthodontics. Each one of these offerings has different timelines.

Invisalign is often shorter than Damon braces, but cannot fix as much as Damon braces can.
