The American Association of Pediatric Dentistry has discovered that around 1 out of every 5 children suffer from canker sores. These sores can be painful and irritating, appearing as small, red sores on the tongue, the inside of the cheeks, the gum tissue, or the lips. Canker sores aren’t contagious, but they have been shown to run in families.
